Defiant

It shouldn't have surprised her and it really didn't.  There were only a few that would accept her back into the fold.

The order to kill her was still out there though, there were some that would never forgive her for having fallen.

But she had been an angel for a very long time, she had spent a long time walking the Earth even before she became human, and so she knew how to hide even from those of her own kind.  She knew how to stay beneath the radar, made easier by the fact that her brothers and sisters had more to worry about than dealing with her.  She wasn't as important as Lilith who was breaking the seals, she was just a wayward angel.  A walking blasphemy.

And yet she tried, she reached out to the one who treated her like trash.  She could see it, she had heard the whispers about how Castiel was feeling things now.  Emotions.  She could see them in his eyes when they faced each other, she could see the doubt and the fear.  She could remember the days that she had those emotions herself, the final days before she tore out her Grace.

He wanted guidance from her even as he hated to be near her, he wanted to know what to do now that he was considering defiance.  He was about to walk her path, a familiar movement for them from the days when she had lead him and Uriel.

Uriel.

She wasn't surprised by the path that he had taken, she had seen it coming long before anyone else.  While she had been entranced by humanity, he had hated them.  She could see the jealousy growing in his heart and now the guilt would be her own.  She had turned away, she had Fallen when she should have kept an eye on him.  But she fixed her mistake as she slid the blade through his throat, watching the blood bubble up as she dropped him to the floor and moved around to Castiel's side.

She watched the light flare and disappear, the wings of the fallen angel burning into the floor.  She looked over at Castiel then, meeting his gaze silently.  She didn't tell him that she was proud of him, he took a moment to think for himself and it lead him to the answer.  He defied the mindless following and because of it, a plot was uncovered and an angel punished for turning against him.  She didn't say anything though, she merely disappeared.

She wouldn't go far though, she still had an interest in the outcome and she had a feeling that she would be needed again.
